Attending High School Football Recruiting Exercise

By Patrice McCoy

High school football recruiting project is a very hectic and breathtaking event. The students feel butterflies in the stomach wondering if they will be selected to the team. The coach is all worked up and worried sick if he will select the best or lock out a special player. Just like many interviews, several factors should be lined out for the process to run smoothly.

May be you have played football since you were a small child and everybody has identified the talent in you. This is your chance to show case what you are made of. Everything should be according to plan and nothing should be left to chance. Draft a satisfactory profile describing your past experience and your achievements. Befriend and practice with players that are already in the team. A good name can work like a bribe. Be in good books with coaches.

A football team is made of very few players but yet the game is played by many people. Some of them are so good but are not interested in furthering the skills or may not be having the inspiration to join the team. Competing with all these people can make your chance of getting selected very slim. If you learn the ropes well, things can be on your side.

Tough as it may sound, note that the couches do not care whether you come from a footballer family or not. They are on a strict program with timed precision that has to be met to the last letter. So, their main agenda is to ensure that you can successfully fulfill this program. Do not waste too much time pampering yourself because they will not be looking for that. Do not also forget to look good because looking shaggy is a put off for anything.

Size and the right body posture are very essential in this selection. Note that football is a physical game, so a physically healthy student will easily be picked as compared to feeble and too thin ones. The first thing the coach observes even before going through your profile is your physical features. Prepare well and eat the right foods to acquire the appropriate body shape.

You may have the right posture and muscle structures that are recommendable but cannot even kick a ball. So, after checking the physique, the next thing the coaches asks for are your skills and prowess. The coaches have their requirements in terms of the positions to be filled. It is then important to be able to play more than one position.

How mentally tough are you in taking in insults and nagging criticism is one of the other factors to consider. Coaches have strict schedules and can frequently get into your nerves trying to make you a better player. If you are easily broken, then this very characteristic can kill your dreams of becoming a footballer.

Just like many school programs, academically correct students have a higher chance to get recruited. It can be the only remaining quality to consider when the coach is faced with a narrow choice between two candidates. Improve your grades and skills to win any high school football recruiting contest. However, these procedures need not totally erase your dream of becoming a footballer. Remember that there are many professional players that never played in high school.
