Wear A Dirty T-Shirt Or Wear Nothing

By Quincy Ladd

You walk yourself into a nightclub and push through the thick crowd to the bar. Once there, you get a nice drink for yourself and finally turn to the hustle and bustle to check things out. Your gaze shifts through the multitude but stops briefly on an attractive face. You do a quick scan and catch sight of someone you may like. A quick look-over is all you spare, though, because there is absolutely nothing that stands out at you.

Let's go over that one more time, shall we? Same old watering hole and same exact situation. You have your drink and you give the moving throng of people a quick glance. That same person is there, but this time it's different. This time that person is wearing a dirty t-shirt that immediately makes you think of things you'd like to say and do with that person. This time you want to talk to that person and try your luck at making those inner thoughts a reality.

All of us have one thing that we can share which will draw us together constantly and push us apart with equal speed. That common thing is our need to be with another human, and there's no getting around it's allure. Advertising has been using the "sex sells" mantra forever because it works. When someone wears a dirty t-shirt that brings images to the minds of people, then you use that same method of advertising to sell yourself.

It makes me sad to see our mutual attractions have such an aura of fear and trepidation associated with them. Even today with all of our liberal views of relationships, we can't bring ourselves to talk about it openly. It is still considered "taboo" and secret for us to share our thoughts on the subject too openly. That's why the subversiveness of a dirty t-shirt gets the job done.

Wearing a dirty t-shirt with a dirty message on it is a clear way to beam your open mindedness to the people around you. Finding these people is easy, once you get past that shield of self-awareness and insecurity you can make contact with these like-minded individuals. Once that happens, the conversation perks up and the dirty t-shirts come off.
