Other Ways In Getting Fixies

By Daniel Turbin

I love fixie bikes. Have done ever since I uncovered them. But if you're beginning, then seeking fixies for saleat the appropriate price and in the ideal condition could look a little bit tough at first. So where can the novice uncover those fixies for salethat suit his spending budget and criteria?

To start with this will depend on whether you want to splash out for a new one, go second-hand or merely want the bits for a self-build. Fundamentally you will find 4 main options open to you.

1. Amazon.com

2. Ebay.com

3. Craigslist

4. Local Small Ads & Word Of Mouth

Amazon

The business has come on hugely since its beginning and it now sells a selection of fixie and fixed gear track bikes. There is certainly quite a lot of variation and a lot of shiny things to tempt you. Just stay with the fundamentals. If you do not like riding it (You won't!) you haven't lost much. The awesome thing about Amazon.com is the low shipping charges.

Ebay.com

A double-edged sword is eBay. You can find both new and used as well as some parts. However you are dealing with multiple sellers whom eBay will no police at all truly until it's too late. And so check for testimonials and ratings of sellers. Don't be put off by one grumbling seller. You are searching for good and bad patterns. You can find some fantastic bargains on eBay if you browse enough.

Craigslist

This is tricky as Craigslist isn't what it used to be. Be Vigilant of scammers however. Yet again you can find some new and used bargains. Stay local to your area so that you can view the bikes in person. Take a fixie expert if nervous about examining the bike.

Local Small Ads and Word Of Mouth

A very powerful method. You are unlikely to find dubious characters and scams. The benefit, besides seeing the bike before buying is that you can negotiate with the buyer direct. They are usually an ordinary Joe like you as well as me so don't be nervous. Again talk to a fixie friend if you need to.

And so there you have it. A quick and dirty approach to finding fixies for saleat a good price. It's very simple if you are both patient and careful in what you do. Don't get interrupted and you and your fixie will live happily ever after.
