Finding the Best Coffee Maker

By Peter C Bean

Purchasing a coffee maker can be a disheartening task. There are so many options to make a choice from in modern models. When selecting a brewer for office or home use, you've got to factor in more than just brewing hot coffee. Will your users be making single cup or multiple cups? Will the users have the time to wait for the coffee maker to heat up the water? If it's going to be utilized in an office environment where coffee breaks can be restricted to 15 minutes you may need a unit that can heat water instantly. And, how important a bottle do you need? These are all questions you may want to ask yourself prior to setting out to buy a new coffee maker . Not to mention, how easy will it be to wash?

In a previous article, I covered the seriousness of having an onboard battery backup, especially for programmable units. Therefore I will not be covering that here. I'm going to assume that you will only be making hot coffee and not espresso or ice-coffee. When looking for a brewer, particularly in an office environment, it is really important to think about counter space. I find it amazing that many folks won't consider where they are going to be placing or storing the unit. Ensure you have enough room for the brewer and any accessories that could be required, for example cups, pods, filters, and so on. You will also need consider where it's going to be used and how straightforward will it be to scrub. If you are purchasing a model for use at home then you might want to get a model with dishwasher safe parts. It may be safe to presume that you would have more time, at home, to scrub the unit.

However , if you are purchasing a model for office use then you might want a model that may be cleaned quickly by hand. Not so many offices have a dishwasher on site. Dependent on the kind of office environment the brewer will be utilized in, the programmable feature won't be needed. If you do not need the programmable feature then you are able to save a few cents and get a model without that option. Another significant concern to make is whether or not the coffee maker will be moved frequently. Will it sit where it or will it be moved constantly once it's in place? If you are getting a unit that'll be moved frequently then you might want to think about paying a bit more and getting a craggy model. Sadly the less expensive the unit is the simpler it could be to begin to break. That is not drafted in stone but it is a good rough guide; you get what you pay for. Most of the time.

These could appear like obvious observations but you could be stunned by how often these basic points are overlooked. If you are like me, time equals money. You wish to get what you need and get it right the 1st time. That way you do not spend time making multiple trips returning a model you thought you would really like, till you got it out of the box. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure; at least that's my thinking.

Once you have worked out all you need in a coffee maker and you are prepared to buy, then you just need to find one in your price range. Price is the simple part. There are countless thousands of makers out there and you're sure to find one that fits your needs and your position. I hope that this helps a small number of you find your ultimate coffee maker .
